Paul Jackson

From March 2009 to March 2012, Paul Jackson was CEO at Eyeworks UK. He then worked extensively in China, consulting for many national broadcasters and acting as EP on The Gadget Show for Shenzhen TV and The West You Don’t Know for CCTV. He acted for three years as Creative Director for Houghton Street Media in Beijing. He was also part of a team from The Format People who set up a new network in Mongolia.
Paul executive produced the last two series of BENIDORM for Tiger TV, a series he commissioned when he was controller of Entertainment at ITV Until December 2008 Paul was ITV’s Director of Entertainment and Comedy, commissioning and overseeing shows such as Britain’s Got Talent, X Factor, Benidorm and Ladies of Letters. Before that he was working as Granada’s Chief Executive Officer in America (where he executive produced Hell’s Kitchen, Nanny 911 and Celebrity Fit Camp amongst others) and previously he worked in Australia as Chief Executive Officer of Granada Productions.
He went to Australia from the BBC where he held the role of Controller of Entertainment and Comedy, responsible for five entertainment and comedy departments working across television, radio and online.
In his production career, Paul produced and or directed a raft of entertainment and comedy shows for most UK Broadcasters, including Young Ones, Red Dwarf, Saturday Live, Girls on Top, The Generation Game and Blankety Blank.
He was the founding Chair of Comic Relief and one time Chair of the Royal Television Society.
Paul was the presenter of BBC Radio 4's long-running series Britain in a Box and The Real Comedy Controllers.
He has just completed working as Executive Producer’ on the recent very successful theatre tour, Benidorm Live.
